Welcome to our FAQ section. In the menu at the left are various topics for which we have prepared some questions and answers. The questions and answers are numbered within each topic for reference. You may search the questions and answers for a keyword, and links to questions containing it or questions whose answers contain it will be listed.
Instruments:
- I have purchased an IQ series instrument recently, and the barometric pressure does not really change if I check it every now and then when I turn it on inside my house. The altitudes of A1 and A2 change but not the hPa reading. Why?
- My IQ series instrument sometimes shows funny max values, e.g. a maximum altitude of 12000 meters.
- How do I name waypoints in a Garmin eMap to make it work with IQ Comp/GPS instruments?
- Info on new Firmware for IQ Versions
- What is the meaning of the two bars where the battery status is shown?
- How do I code the waypoints in US versions of the IQ Series (Non-metric systems)?
- My Brauniger IQ CompGPS Vario always shows the wrong date and time. Every time I adjust the date and time and switch the vario back on it is the wrong date and time again, e.g. 1995.
- Problem with the PC-Graph software: The program starts normally. I connect the cable to the instrument and COM 2 on the computer. I want to transfer flight data - the window with the message "switch to memo-mode" comes up and I press the MEMO key for 3-4 seconds. But nothing happens - no transfer!
- How does the the IQ CompGPS Final glide calculation with McCready work?
- How do I enter my name in the Instrument?
- If you fly at high altitudes in thinner air the True Airspeed (TAS) must be higher than in denser air to get the same best glide ratio. GPS on the other hand always displays the correct groundspeed.
-- 'Can I just fly with the same speed for best glide at all altitudes?'
-- 'No, but if at higher altitudes you hold your control bar in the same position as at best glide in dense air (lower altitudes) you will get the same best glide despite your increased speed and sink rate.'
- Which GPS receivers can I use with the IQ CompGPS?
- What is the function of the vario neutral point function in Set-Mode 11 of the IQ Basist?
- I am having problems when trying to print directly from an IQ series instrument to a printer.
- A question about my IQ instrument: when I set it to feet (English units) the digital climb/sink meter reads for example "3.5". Does this indicate 350 feet/minute? Or does it mean 3.5 meters/sec. (that is 700 feet/min.)? What about the analog meter? Does that continue to indicate meters/sec. even in the English unit mode?
- How do I put the polar into an IQ Comp or IQ CompGPS?
- I have re-installed the PC-Graph software and want to use the database of the earlier installation. If I just copy the old database in the directory of the new installation and overwrite the new database, I get an error message like "Duplicate value in index".
- How can I see with which serial number PC-Graph works with?
- I am trying to download a barogram from my vario to the PC and I get an error message "Invalid file format"? What gives?
- PC-GRAPH Version 2.7 or lower shows problems with "date"
- I can't see the windspeed and direction even though the GPS is connected to the IQ CompGPS and all is working perfectly.
