The Skyhawk was a recreational hang glider produced from 1984 through 1990, available in two wing area sizes. It occupied the recreational segment of Wills Wing's lineup during a period when the company was also developing its High Performance competition models. The Skyhawk's six-year production run spans the mid-to-late 1980s, a formative period for hang glider design.
Serial numbers for Skyhawk gliders fall in the 9000–9307 range, a relatively narrow range reflecting a more limited production volume compared to other models of the same era.

History
The Skyhawk entered production in March 1984, the same year as the original HP, reflecting Wills Wing's simultaneous development of both recreational and competition-oriented models. While the HP lineage went on to set world records, the Skyhawk served recreational pilots through the balance of the 1980s.
The Skyhawk's production ended in December 1990, concurrent with the transition to the new generation of Wills Wing designs that characterized the early 1990s. The Sport AT entered production in January 1990, representing the next generation of intermediate designs.

"For the recreational pilot, most double-surface gliders have sacrificed way too much in weight, cost and handling for a relatively small amount of high-speed glide."
The Skyhawk review was the first installment in Hang Gliding Magazine's new Glider Showcase series. Editor Gil Dodgen evaluated the Skyhawk at Marshall Peak near Crestline, California.
